The
California Pharmacists Association (CPhA), founded in 1869, is the
largest state association representing pharmacists in the nation.
CPhA represents pharmacy professionals from all practice settings
whose mission is to promote, expand, and defend the profession of
pharmacy and the role of pharmacists in California. As a partner
in the No Drugs Down the Drain program, the CPhA recognizes the
need to divert waste medicines from the sewer to alternative, responsible
disposal options and, in doing so, demonstrates a commitment to
public health and the environment through education and outreach.
CPhA believes in this program as an important public health initiative
and has embraced this program as an opportunity to bring together
two very diverse entities (pharmacy and wastewater treatment professionals)
in a common goal. To learn more about the CPhA, visit their .
